About Miss Hoskins

I am a recent graduate from the University  of Kentucky where I studied both Elementary Education and Spanish. I have studied and taught in both Spain and New Zealand, and hope to bring part of those experiences into the classroom here at Glendover. Having family from Peru, Spanish has always been a part of my life. It has been so fun to see students at an Elementary level already excited about learning another language!

Kindergarten and 1st grade have been working on learning parts of the body in Spanish! Ask your child's classroom teacher if you can check out their class book "Mi Monstro". Each student has written a sentence describing the color of their monsters eyes, nose, head, and mouth.

In fourth and fifth grades this semester we learned about the Day of the Dead and Poemas Calaveras. Each students worked to write a poem similar to those written in Mexico. These poems are meant to honor loved ones and can be written in a sentimental or humorous tone. Students incorporated Spanish vocabulary into thier poem.
